Working Principle of the Cocoa Liquor Ball Mill
The equipment utilizes high-strength steel balls as the grinding medium. Through the friction and shear forces generated between the steel balls and the internal cocoa liquor, it rapidly refines the cocoa mass, ultimately achieving the desired fineness (20–25 microns).
This ball mill can be integrated with storage tanks, mixing tanks, and rotor pumps to form a continuous production line, thereby ensuring stable production capacity.
The Cocoa Liquor Grinding Process:
Cocoa beans must first be roasted and crushed into cocoa nibs before undergoing the following processing steps:
1. Initial Grinding
The cocoa nibs are processed through a colloid mill to produce cocoa liquor (a type of suspension). This grinder is a high-speed shear device featuring a core assembly consisting of a stator and a rotor; while its refining capability is less intensive than that of a ball mill, it typically achieves a fineness of 80–100 mesh.
2. Fine Grinding
The cocoa liquor from the initial grinding stage is transferred to a ball mill for fine grinding. The resulting finished cocoa liquor can achieve a fineness of up to 25 microns (approximately 500 mesh) and is then ready for use in chocolate production.
