Pada masa ini, kawasan pengeluar utama biji koko ialah Amerika Tengah dan Selatan, Afrika Barat dan Asia Tenggara. Kawasan penanaman utama di tanah besar China ialah Hainan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Memetik buah koko yang masak bukanlah tugas yang mudah, dan pokok koko rapuh dan mempunyai akar yang cetek. Penanam mempunyai pisau keluli berbentuk tangan yang dikendalikan panjang untuk pemetik.
